Eclipse

So I am a huge dork, and am totally into the Twilight Saga! This past weekend the Eclipse movie was released on DVD! My group of girlfriends has been having Twilight release parties for the movies and this was my turn to host! So, since I love party planning and I had an amazing co-host, ( thank you, Allison!) we went crazy and all out for this party.
Our favors! I love them! We put first aid kits, chap stick, and other little things in that went with the movie!
Our food table. We went with three ideas for our food table, Eclipse(of course), red and black, and Graduation Party.
Our beautiful cake! Allison decorated it and it turned out perfect for our little shindig!
The Twilighters!
Loved our decor! Specially the apples with candles in them!

On the garage door we made silhouettes of some of the characters training to fight newborns.
Planing and putting together the party was so much fun! I am so happy my friend and I had the chance to host it! I think we did an outstanding job!

My Amazing Trip from Hell

My best friend, moved to Virginia, and now that her husband is deployed we decided to have me fly out there and go on a little mini trip to New York. So many things were against us and did not work out on this simple little trip! However, we still managed to laugh and have a great time. Here is my trip to the east coast with Mallory...
The start of my trip, flying over Bryce and Arches National Park. I thought it was so unique and pretty.
I had a lay over at my favorite place to visit, Chicago! I rushed to Potbelly's for a delicious sandwich, that I've been craving for months, before hoping on to my flight to Norfolk.
After hanging around Virginia Beach for a day, Mallory and I drove up to Connecticut to drop off these two adorable boys of Mal's. This is Banyon and Jasper cuddling on the 12 hour car ride!
Jasper and I during the drive.
We spent the night at Mallory's in laws and then the next day drove down to New York/ New Jersey. We booked the Westin in Jersey City. So, we get to the Westin and they can't find our reservation, well some how we booked our room for the wrong weekend! So a long story short...We stayed one night there and then switched to the Courtyard Marriot,( that is no Westin).....this is the first bad thing of the trip. The craziness of trying to find a room for the night and the weekend and arguing with Expedia to get a refund for the wrong weekend booking.

Our first night we decided to go in to the city and eat at this place called Jane. We had a delicious meal and a appetizer brought to us compliments from the kitchen! However, on the way back my Metro card stopped working and I had to buy a new one just after refilling the old one!
The next day we walked everywhere! We had lunch and rice pudding at a city park. Then we walked and look through shops.
(Okay here we go...hope you can understand what I'm trying to say here:-))After walking and shopping, we had dinner at another place recommended on the food network, called Five Points. Here I had the potato pizza (recommended by food network) which was a normal pizza with thinly sliced potato on it. This tasted fine to me....however, 5am the coming morning it will have started our wonderful day of food poisoning! But Mallory took such good care of me....we were so bummed cause as you see in the pictures Mal and I had to rush so much to get to our show, Chicago, because NY's lovely subway that we needed was closed! So we took an short trip on the subway and then walked the rest of the way to our show...well was sort of walking, two words...New Boots...So as we were rushing by landmarks, Time Square, Rockefeller plaza, the tree being put together and more, we would tell each other, (out of breath) "we will come back tomorrow, see it, and take pictures"....but thank you Five Points ( at least we think that was it) for keeping me in our room throwing up every 5 minutes.
Mallory and I happy to have made it on time to Chicago at the Ambassador Theatre.

There is a gap in pictures, where there would have been many from that one day. But like said before I was stuck, pretty much in the bathroom all day. So Monday after getting pulled over on our way back to Virginia, we made it to Mallory's.
The next day we took a short trip to Williamsburg! This was the best day of our trip together, and our last full day. This town is so cute and historic! I loved the buildings and the cute little Merchants Square, and of course the fall trees!

Us by the historic courthouse. Having some fun!

I just love this picture!
The governors mansion...so cute!
After Williamsburg, we went back to Virginia Beach, and went to the movies. Mallory and I thought it was hilarious that the center has no profanity signs. So we just had to take pictures with it.

The next day we got up, made sure we were all packed, and then flew home with a lay over in Detroit. Then we were finally HOME!!!! Here we are waiting for our luggage at LAX.

Even though so many things went wrong we had a blast, even when I was throwing up! I love Mallory and am so happy I was able to fly out and visit her....and now I have a great New York and East Coast mini vacation story to share in the future!

Chris acting out a part from the show...

Pumpkin Time!

We went back to our wedding site, Strawberry Farms, had lunch and then went to the farm there, Tanaka Farms, to pick out our pumpkins! I love going here to get our pumpkins, its fun to walk around the farm and the pumpkin vines. I think this could become a Geiss nest family tradition!

Engagement Party

Our very good friends, Nicole & Chris, got engaged a few months before our wedding! We are so happy and excited for them! Since we love them so much we threw them a Peacock themed engagement party! Everything turned out great, great decorations, great food, and great friends! Here are just a few photos from the evening but they really don't do any justice to the real thing.
The dessert table! And of course the cutest cake! The cake was a group effort between our friend Allison, Brian and I.

Crazy Kitties

To say this simply, life has been pretty bland the past couple of weeks... nothing too exciting to share... besides hanging out with friends, playing Clue, going to the Greek Festival, & having a backyard movie night... in-addition to this weekends events, our constant entertainment has been our cats.. so here are our two crazy kitty cats :-)
Stewy, who thinks he is small, hanging off of his scratching box.
Insane Sophie... enjoys jumping on to our screen door multiple times each night.

Dirt Track Racing & James Dean

This weekend we drove up to Santa Maria, to meet Brian's family for the Annual Ron Otto Memorial Race (Brian's Great Uncle) We always enjoy this weekend trip and have tons of fun watching the races. On our way home we visited James Dean's crash site, memorial, and last stop spot before the crash. This was really neat for us and me (Sara) because I'm a huge James Dean fan! (We've been to Jimmy's home town and grave twice too!) Enjoy the pictures!

Us at the speedway
James Dean's Memorial...it's about 900 yards from the crash site.
To the side is the intersection where the crash happened.
55 years ago on September 30.
A better picture of me at the intersection.
Jimmys last stop before the crash, it was called Blackwell's Corner, it was like a mini deli mart type thing then...but it burnt down in the 60's I think.
On our way home we stopped in Burbank for some Bob's Big Boy for Lunner!

Holy Wow! What a great week!

Okay, so this was a great week! There was a lot of hanging out at home but also some really fun and amazing things too. Later in the week, I got a text from my friend, Allison, that one of my favorite TV shows, Dexter, was filming in Long Beach....very close to home! So I meet up with her and spent a couple of hours watching them film! It was beyond awesome! Even after this nice sunburn I have from standing outside, I am so happy I was there. Also! I got to get a picture with Charlie Lee an actor from the show who plays the part of Vince Masuka one of my favorite characters! ... and Brian and I went on a little date, where we watched Jaws at the beach. It was so much fun. I forgot how great that movie was! Anyways, here's some pics!

Masuka & Me!
